Thermal oil heaters

Advantages of thermal oil heaters

Thermal oil boilers are designed to work with the three types of fuels: fossil, biomass and non-conventional fuels.

Fossil fuel

Termal oil advantages

This type of boilers have important advantages compared to conventional steam equipment:

  • The oil does not need any treatment and allows to obtain performances of more than 85% for biomass boilers or greater than 90% for fossil fuel boilers (with the use of gas / air economizers).
  • Thermal oil boilers do not need a boiler room or a boiler operator, reducing costs considerably.
  • The oil acts as a lubricating fluid and its properties allow no corrosion in the installations, which means less maintenance of the installation.
  • These types of boilers work at very low pressures, which increases safety and reduces the risk of explosions by working at high pressures.

Technical data

  • Fuels: Fossil / biomass / unconventional fuels
  • Power: Up to 50MW
  • Design: Coils and oil preheaters of cross flow
  • Max. Service: Up to 395 ºC in HTF
  • Location: Vertical / horizontal
  • Construction methods: AD-2000 / ASME

Basic characteristics

  • Boilers with one to three smoke stages.
  • Coils connection in series without temperature mixtures: Allows an exact control of circulating thermal oil flow through the inner part of the boiler.
  • Collector cooled by the fluid itself which avoids the assembly of refractory material. Thus, minimal maintenance is guaranteed inside the boiler of all the parts subjected to radiation. This type of collector also prevents, in the event of stoppage of the pump, that the oil inside the boiler degrades when receiving an additional energy input from the refractory mass.
