Steam boilers advantages

A biomass steam boiler is a machine aimed to transform the chemical energy contained in the solid fuel into thermal energy for different uses, whether it be the production of electricity or heat for industrial processes.

These boilers are made up of a heat exchange body between which the gases from combustion circulate and where the energy is transferred to the water that circulates through it, converting it into steam.

The steam boilers produced by Sugimat can be of 3 types: fire-tube boilers, water-tube boilers or a combination of the two (fire-water-tube type), depending on the characteristics of the fuel.

In addition, our industrial boilers can operate with the following combustion technologies:

Sugimat is the only licensee in Spain of ERK Eckrohrkessel GmbH , the German giant in steam boiler engineering and technology.

What fuels can a biomass steam boiler consume?

The design of a biomass steam boiler is directly related to the type of fuel it will be fuelled with.
Biomass steam boilers can consume fuels such as:

  • Virgin wood
  • Wood Chips
  • Wood bark
  • Industrial woodwaste (grade B wood and grade C wood)
  • Olivecake and olive pomace
  • Grape pomace
  • Coffee grounds
  • Chicken manure
  • Straw
  • Sanding dust
  • Olive stones
  • Compsost oversize
  • Almond husk
  • Sawdust
